A BMW 2 Series Active Hybrid Tourer has recently been seen on the test track. It appears that BMW has been tweaking variations of the 2 Series Active Tourer since it was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
There aren't a lot of details on this car that are open to the public right now. That being said, we've noticed some similarities to the electrified hatchback Concept Active Tourer that was mentioned earlier. This concept housed a hybridized 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and was matched with an electric motor. It rolled out 190hp and 147lb-ft of torque. We don't know the specifics at the moment, but we think this test model will implement the old concept's powertrain.
Take a look at some pictures of the test car from earlier this year.
Here at Hendrick BMW, we can't wait to see where this test model could go. Nothing official has been said about its production, but we hope to see one of these on the road soon. To learn more about the BMW 2 Series Active Hybrid Tourer or other new BMWs, check out our Charlotte, NC dealership.
