Meet the Impressive New 2019 BMW X5

The BMW X5 is all-new for this year, from the inside out. For 2019, there are two trim levels: X5 xDrive40i and X5 xDrive50i.

Interior Flexibility and Luxury Features

With seating for five or up to seven passengers, the larger BMW X5 is a comfortable option for families. Choose the two-row option and fold the rear seats, though, and you can unlock up to 76.7 cubic feet of interior storage space, with cargo floor grips and smart new cargo features. As you can imagine, the cabin is full to the brim with luxury features, premium materials, and the smoothest upholstery options you can touch. Explore all new BMW X5 features in person to really get a feel for what this SAV can offer.

Big & Bad is Very, Very Good

Step aside big, bad wolf--this is the bigger, badder new BMW. The 2019 BMW X5 is slightly wider and longer than last year's model, building on the historical good looks of this SAV with even more might and muscle. But, it doesn't forget the classic signature look of a pure BMW: dual kidney grilles are placed prominently front and center.

All-Wheel-Drive Capability and Performance

Currently for the 2019 lineup, xDrive all-wheel drive comes standard on all trims. This is common for the first year of a new run of SAVs--we're likely to see a RWD variant in the 2020 model. Power output is up for both standard and optional engines from similar engines last year--the 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder now boasts 335 horsepower, while the hefty 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine is good for 456 horsepower.

Safety Features and Technology

The impressive new 2019 BMW X5 now comes standard with the brand's Active Driving Assistant. This suite offers a range of driver-assistance systems including low-speed automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic warning. In tech, you can stay connected anywhere with an available Wi-Fi Hotspot, app features through BMW ConnectedDrive, and full integration through an updated iDrive 6.0 infotainment system.
